We are currently in discussion with SGI regarding an industry rate review and I have forwarded information to SGI in regard to the increase in material rates.
We expect to put our proposal to SGI in regard to the rate review in the next week or two and I expect SGI will address the paint material rate sometime in March.
Just want to give you all a head’s up! SAAR has booked Mike Anderson to do a 2-hour webinar on Wednesday March 10th from 6 pm till 8pm. Plan to have your staff attend this online event and get the latest cutting-edge information on ADAS Calibrations.
Mike is familiar to many of you and he is probably one of the best communicators the collision industry has seen in the last few years. His entertaining presentations are chock full of great information that you can put to use in your shop the next day. More details will be available in the next month but mark your calendar for March 10th!
From our friend Dave Flockhart:
I would like to share details of a specific program we have been running very successfully in Europe for the past 3 years, which I think could work well in SK.
It has 3 guiding principles:
- Reduce Cost of Repair
- Increase Profit Per Repair
- Without Compromising Quality
Online Presentation/Webinar
If you would like to find out more about the rationale, benefits and return on investment, please join me for one of three 40-minute online presentations in February.
Each will be the same content. The idea behind running 3 is to give offer choice about date and time.
By keeping the initial presentation to 40 minutes, I hope it will not be too intrusive on your time. We can then schedule individual follow up meetings, if you see value and would like to know more.
Next Step
I’d be grateful if you would reply to this email, to let me know which one of the following dates/times would work best for you:
- Thursday Feb-18 at 8am
- Tuesday Feb-23 at midday
- Wednesday Feb-24 at 10am
Please just send your reply to me at flockhart@betaginnovations.com
I will then set up the presentations and send out invitations and joining instructions.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Dave

Hey!
Lisa here, your SAAR Marketing Admin. I’ve been working really hard on creating a new digital supply chain network to support Canadians during the tough economic times. We just launched and I would love for you all to join! It’s called Canbaba and is Canada’s first fully digital wholesaling marketplace.
You’re invited to sign up here!
Canbaba is a brand new all Canadian wholesaling marketplace where you can easily list, buy and sell wholesale equipment, supplies and inventory.
Suppliers: sign up to create your free virtual business storefront and unlimited product listings. Just set your minimum order quantity.
Shops: sign up to create your free buyer account to shop, compare and easily buy Canadian wholesale products.
Watch our video here to learn how it works
Unique Facts
Did you know there are trillions of product listings on Alibaba? You can source practically anything for wholesale on that marketplace in seconds.
Did you know that out of those trillions of products there are less than 10,000 Canadian products?
Our goal at Canbaba is to create an easy to use marketplace exclusively for Canadian business to business products. This way we will restructure our supply chain system keeping more money and jobs here in Canada. Also, buyers from Canada and anywhere in the world will now have easy access to high quality Canadian goods for low Canadian dollars.
Many of the shops that switched to the ARA in the past year and half are experiencing their first renewal as of January 1, and I can honestly say, I think they were all pleasantly surprised. The average renewal we saw with the ARA was about 1.5%. For those of you with current benefits in place you know that a renewal that low is not something you would usually see. With Covid-19 causing Disability cases to skyrocket, outside of the ARA we are seeing our plans increase an average of 30%.
It has been almost 2 years since we partnered with the ARA, we have built a strong relationship and they have earned our trust. They have proven that they have a solid plan, great customer service and lower rates when compared to a standard plan.
We are now working on new quotes for the New Year. Contact us to see how we can help you save money on your benefits plan this year and in the future.
