It is that time of year when your SAAR membership needs to be renewed. Thank you to all that have already done so. I appreciate your promptness. For those of you that have not paid this week please contact me to let me know what your plans for renewal are, if I do not hear from you, I will have to remove you from this mailing list. I trust that you are getting value from these weekly newsletters and I look forward to hearing from you.
We have added some meetings to our March 10th webinar with Mike Anderson. Prior to Mike’s presentation we will have a short SAAR AGM starting at around 4 pm then SGI will host a Town Hall online meeting to give updates on the SQARP program, our Rate Review Discussions and then will open for the floor for a Q & A session. We expect to wrap up around 5:45 pm so you can take a bathroom break and grab something to eat before Mike starts his presentation at 6 pm. Get your team together if possible and make it a Dinner and a Show night!
Scanning and recalibrating vehicles with ADAS equipment is probably one of the toughest tasks that body shops have had to deal with in the last 30 years. I am sure you have asked yourself these questions: Do I send it to the dealer? Will they know what to do? Can I do it myself? Do I need an OEM scan tool, or can my aftermarket unit do the job?
The scary part is that an improperly repaired ADAS system has some life-threatening consequences to it. Some of you have registered already on Eventbrite at register online at Eventbrite here but please click on this link to register for Scanning, It’s Not Just About DTC’s on Mar 10, 2021 6:00 PM CST.
I had an interesting email from Darcy Gorchynski, the Director of Business Development for Audatex Canada. Essentially, he shared that the Pandemic is literally changing the way body shops and insurance companies will do business going forward.
Most recently, Audatex published an insightful global research study from the perspective of the insurer, consumer, and repair shop / OEMs.
It is not surprising that 72% of global consumers desire a fully automated claims journey. In North America more than 83% of consumers would trust automotive claims driven entirely by AI. Solera has been progressing towards consumer driven claims for several years with their highly rated self-serve app. The research study is both interesting and encouraging; you can access the full report here at your leisure.
Check out this video on Visual Intelligence demonstrating how the technology drives accuracy and efficiency throughout the claims process.
As outlined in the SQARP Update #8 Bulletin (distributed Feb. 9, 2021), on March 1, 2021 the Medallia accounts for accredited repairers will be automatically activated, and repair firms will receive an email from Medallia Support with the following information: username; password; and link to the Medallia application. Please note, signing into your Medallia account is optional.
SGI has scheduled a training session on March 16, 2021 to provide new users with an overview of how to sign-in and navigate the Medallia applications. Participation is recommended for shops that wish to track their Customer experience score in real-time and review any customer comments. To register for the lunch’n’learn, please accept the meeting invitation that was sent to your registered email address on Feb.26, 2021 and/or contact Appraisal Services at apprasialservices@sgi.sk.ca. For more information on Medallia, please refer to SGI Accredited Repairer Bulletin #88 (distributed Jan.25, 2021).

A close retired friend of mine, who is very successful by most people’s measure, once confided in me. He said, “Dave, the one thing I regret from my life is that I didn’t think bigger. I could have made a much bigger difference in the world than I have.”
I believe that some people will live a life of contentment. Being merely “okay” with where they are at in life. That’s perfectly okay for some; however, for high performers like my friend and I, we understand that we only have one life to live and we should milk it for everything its worth! If you agree with this, you don’t want to miss Think BIG!
In this dynamic episode of Limitless E Coaching learn how to shift your limited thinking and bust through that glass ceiling and gain some tools and strategies to allow you to think and act bigger so you can experience a richer life of all around abundance.
- Where to find the self-confidence and belief in your thinking.
- Using failure as a driving force to massive success.
- Practical tips on “how” to turn small thinking into BIG.
- How self-talk is critical to success.
- How the company you keep determines your size of thinking.
- The power of a “service to others” mindset in your ability to think BIG.
- And much more!
Be sure to stick around and I will answer your questions one on one and provide a little coaching. And of course, our famous break-out session where you can get to know and learn from your fellow high-performers.
