SGI will host a virtual Town Hall meeting starting at the conclusion of the SAAR AGM and wrap up at 5:45 pm so you can get ready for Mike Anderson and Jake Rodenroth. Let’s have a respectful dialogue as we explore the new SGI Accreditation Agreement.

It’s Not Just About DTC’s

Wednesday March 10th at 6 pm

Scanning and recalibrating vehicles with ADAS equipment is probably one of the toughest tasks that body shops have had to deal with in the last 30 years. I am sure you have asked yourself these questions: Do I send it to the dealer? Will they know what to do? Can I do it myself? Do I need an OEM scan tool, or can my aftermarket unit do the job?

Please register for SAAR – Scanning, It’s Not Just About DTC’s on Mar 10, 2021 6:00 PM CST here.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.

AsTech is making some bold moves! They just purchased adasThink and have made some interesting adjustments to their pricing structure. Jake Rodenroth will be joining Mike Anderson on our March 10th SAAR webinar and hopefully will share some of the very interesting developments at AsTech.

Have you given much through to 2021? I know that after going through 2020 it is hard to even imagine what 2021 might hold for you and your business but I think it is worth thinking about. To help you do that check out this terrific article in Bodyshop Business by Frank Terlep POSITIVE DISRUPTION STEPS FOR 2021.

SAAR has booked the Saskatoon Inn in Saskatoon on September 9th, 10th & 11th for their 2021 Fall Conference.

Going on faith I’m going to suggest that this event will be a live one that will include a golf outing, a live seminar, possibly a Friday evening Trade Show and various presentations on Saturday. I could use your feedback to help me prepare a format and an agenda – can you take 5 minutes right now and fill out this short survey?

The winner of the 3M primer gun was Paul Hoffart from Barber Motors in Weyburn. All he did was participate in the online presentation to view the new 3M Performance spray gun check it out here with Chip Foose.

If you are not performing Test Drives on each repair job where ADAS is involved, you really need to be doing so. We are currently in discussions with SGI at the Technical Committee level on this issue and quite frankly they are struggling to pay for test drives if shops are not always doing them.

We have been down this road before with things like R&I of trim and Rustproofing – shops finally realized that they were needed operations but were reluctant to do them because they were not being paid to do so, Test Drives are no different, they need to be done and if we are diligent, they will be paid for, hopefully in the near future.

Check out what Mike Anderson has to say about vehicle Test Drives and tune in on Wednesday this week at 6 pm to hear it straight from him.

If you want more evidence that Test Drives are necessary, check out this I-CAR online training course Post Repair Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) Testing.
